A few days ago we saw the official announcement of The Thaumaturge , previously known by its code name Vitriol - an isometric RPG developed by Fool's Theory (which is also working on a remake of The Witcher ) and published by 11 bit studios .
The game will take us to Warsaw at the beginning of the 20th century, a time when Polish did not exist as a state and the capital was in the Russian partition. How the gameplay The Thaumaturge looks like up close, can be seen in the first gameplay trailer, which was made available today.
Based on the above shots, you can already form a preliminary opinion about the intriguing atmosphere of pre-WWI Warsaw depicted in the game.
During the gameplay we will sometimes summon supernatural creatures ; we are talking about Salutors - "powerful, mythical" creatures that will help us in our struggles.
It is good to have such allies, because, as you can infer from the trailer, we will also face some enemies not from this world. As the creators themselves write:
"Influencing mechanics of turn-based combat significantly, Salutors improve the skills of the main character and raise his stats, but their presence also affects the narrative aspect and enables the player to manipulate other characters to achieve personal goals."
The Thaumaturge will initially be released exclusively on PC on Steam, GOG.com and Epic Games Store. The release date remains unknown .
