Miss Kirsten F. QIN 秦放 小姐

Miss Kirsten Fang QIN, is the founder of project “optic fiber smart clothes” and a final year student of Electronic and Information Engineering in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Throughout her study in PolyU, she has maintained an excellent academic performance: with GPA 3.95 and major GPA 4.0, she has won fourth Best Semester Award and the Best GPA Award, being recognized as one of the top 3 in the whole department and twice in the Dean’s Honors List.
秦放小姐为光纤智能穿戴项目发起人。她于2014年就讀香港理工大學電子與資訊工程學系並保持優異的學業成績：GPA 3.95 與專業GPA4.0， 四次獲得學期最突出成績獎，兩次被列入工院院長嘉許名單並獲得突出學術成績獎（全系前三）。
The project “optic fiber smart clothes” comes from her final year project – “Design of FBG Sensor Interrogation System” supervised by Prof. Chao Lu and won the “Best 50 Final Year Projects Award” of the “Undergraduate Final Year Project Supporting Scheme 2017-18” held by Hong Kong X-Tech Startup Platform with a grant of HK$20,000.
She has two intern experience and one research experience. She and her three classmates has developed the new generation of Automatic Meter Reading System for Towngas with a BLE device and a mobile app, which has been installed 1,000 units in market and potential market size is 1 million in Hong Kong. This system was applied for patent in Hong Kong. Her second intern was in a startup company, Glampinghub, in Sevilla, Spain as a trainee in IT and marketing department. Her research experience was in Wisconsin Embedded Systems and Computing Lab as a research assistant for Prof. Younghyun Kim for 4 months to research in sensor security of self-driving car and Secure-vibe board for medical device.
Besides, she values on culture exchange and overseas experience. She has exchanged in University of Wisconsin-Madison with scholarships and been to Myanmar for service learning. She also participated in a one-year collaboration project with Lund University and Malmo University in Sweden. Her teams’ project endpoint water meter was selected to be presented at Innocarnival 2018 in Sweden.
